Problem:

The school system was unable to host a centrally managed telephone system due to the absence of site-to-site network connectivity. The existing infrastructure also created a significant cost and resource burden on the IT Department. During the project, the biggest challenge Metropolitan Telephone faced was working around a school schedule to reduce downtime and provide a seamless transition to the new voice solutions.

Solution:

Metropolitan Telephone designed a solution which clusters Mitel 3300 Controllers and centralized voicemail. HP networking equipment was implemented to provide support for the new IP phones installed throughout the school district.

All schools in the district are now connected via town fiber. Metropolitan Telephone projects by end of 2015, eleven schools will be fitted with Mitel 3300 Controllers, IP Phones, and a centralized Nupoint voicemail system. The new voice solution will ease system management and allow for the ability to only dial four digits to access each location.
